The world was first introduced to the Air Jordan 13 ‘Flint’ in 1998. Though never worn by Michael Jordan on the court, the Flint Grey is often regarded as the best of the original colorways. The first Air Jordan 13 Retro ‘Flint’ hit stores in 2005, then again in 2010. Departing from the OG and 2005 iterations, the Air Jordan 13 Retro ‘Flint’ of 2010 does not feature the original 3M detailing.
Released in 1997, the Air Jordan XIII has become a favorite in the Air Jordan line. Designer Tinker Hatfield thought Jordan’s movements on the court were similar to a panther, so he used the sleek animal as an inspiration for this Air Jordan model. Panther design elements can be seen throughout the sneaker, but most noticeably on the sole (which resembles a paw), and with a “panther eye” (which is a hologram that displays the number 23, the Jumpman logo, and a basketball).
